Position Overview:

The Clerical Officer will provide administrative support within the HR Payroll Department, focusing on finance-related duties. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while managing payroll and HR records. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient processing of payroll and supporting day-to-day HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of employee payroll on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel and payroll records in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Input, verify, and update payroll-related data, including timesheets, leave applications, and tax details.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries relating to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees by preparing documentation and collecting required forms.
  • Assist with the generation of reports for HR and Finance departments.
  • File and archive payroll and HR documents in line with internal policies and legal requirements.
  • Support audits and compliance checks by compiling and submitting required documentation.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
  • Perform general office duties such as data entry, photocopying, scanning, and mail handling.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally in HR or payroll (desirable).
  • Strong data entry and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of GDPR and the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
